Last week we spent time together coming to the realization that suffering is not mandatory in weight loss and health improvement.

Do you believe it?

Instead of forcing ourselves to suffer in the short term for no long-term gain, we are going to aim to live the healthiest life we can still enjoy.

It will not look the same every day. Your healthiest enjoyable life on vacation will look different than when you are at home.

What I want, is for us is to start becoming the healthiest version of ourselves, to do the things we want to do, and be ready for whatever comes our way.

Last week I promised to share a few things I will be doing differently with my clients going forward, as I focus more on whole person health, not just weight loss.

  • We will stop setting a goal weight and instead will achieve goal behaviors.  A healthy weight will be an inevitable by-product.
  • My programs will be a minimum of six months.  It takes time to establish new, permanent behaviors and get rid of diet mentality.  Don’t be in a rush.
  • I will be talking about movement and exercise. When I was focusing only on weight loss, I didn’t spend much time on my client’s exercise habits.  The truth is that exercise doesn’t really contribute very much to weight loss, but wow, does it matter in so many ways for our overall health.  And, it is super important for maintaining weight.
  • I will also be discussing what we are eating in a little more detail.  There are many ways to eat to lose weight, but there are specific, powerful foods that can really improve our overall health.

I encourage you to think about these changes whether you’re one of my clients or simply following along on this journey with me.

Let’s improve our health together, but also refuse to be miserable!
