I had written a few blogs before the COVID-19 event and set them aside. As I read through them to publish, they all seemed a little “off”, and not quite relevant any longer. It made me think that maybe the whole world has slightly shifted for a bit. Maybe forever.
My shelter-mates and I have been discussing the changes that are happening all around us, that might just stick around after all this is over.
Are handshakes gone forever?
Will people wearing masks be forever normal, and not odd?
I wonder which fashion designer will add coordinating masks to their runway show?
Will schools and workplaces operating virtually be normal?
Will social distancing be part of our lives forever?
Will we naturally just keep a distance between each other?
Will we be connecting by phone and video call with our family and friends more as a regular practice?
What other things might be forever different?
The things that seemed so odd just a few weeks ago already seem normal. The only reason for this is: consistent exposure.
So, take this concept and use it for your growth. It can apply to all facets of life.
Think of health improvements, for example – when we start, they feel un-doable and so hard. Then after a little time they become our “new normal’.
Take a minute to reflect on your habits during this time. What you are doing every day? What do you want to become your new normal?
